My Journey with Mindfulness
I wanted to become more successful in my personal and professional life. Like many of you, I have experienced stress, joy, and sorrow. I spin my wheels in trying to get ahead in life. Being dyslexic causes me to withdraw from anything related to writing or public speaking.
Through the years, I tried journaling but never was consistent with it. Due to my dyslexia, writing caused me GREAT anxiety. So, I abandoned my efforts only after a few weeks.
In this blog, I share some of my Journey with mindfulness and how I learnt to live mindfully.

Mindfulness Saved Me
Then I discovered mindfulness, and it changed my life! I am now a published author and blogger, and I earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. So, indeed, mindfulness has worked for me.
In recent years, mindfulness has gained significant attention in the medical field. Scientific research has shown that mindfulness has many health and emotional benefits.
I enjoy practising holistic living, which means caring for the health and wellness of my body and soul.
Yet it was only during the COVID-19 pandemic I began to learn the benefits of mindfulness. Before Covid, I never connected mindfulness with my lifestyle, good health, or wellness.
How I Learnt to Live Mindfully
I learnt mindfulness from YouTube, books, courses, and lectures.
As I studied, I began seeing the many benefits that would help me in all aspects of my life, so I gave it a go.
I began practising mindfulness and approached everything I did with intention. I found that mindfulness worked well if I made it a “lifestyle” rather than a practice that one dips in and out of.
Dipping in and out would make me forget to always be mindful of the moment. However, making it a habit became a lifestyle habit and soon became my second nature.
Creating Well Habits to Live Mindfully.
I was going through a lot of stress at work and found mindfulness helpful in my professional career.
To begin mindfulness, I knew I had to make it a habit. Making mindfulness a habit would ensure that I would stick to it. I created a strategy for developing habits that I call “well habits.”
I call them ‘well-habits’ as they are easily identified against ‘bad habits’. Well, habits are good habits that lead to holistic wellness.
